A welded deformed bar anchor connects to a steel beam or plate sized per plans, maintaining a one inch minimum clearance. The reinforcing steel utilizes ASTM A706 Grade 60 bars with sizing and spacing per plan, paired with weld sizes ranging from one-quarter inch for number three bars up to nine-sixteenths inch for number eight bars. Weld metal requires Charpy V-notch testing, and Nelson D6L A706 deformed bar anchors of the same size and length may be used as an alternative. Overall length of the deformed bar anchor is determined by specific detail conditions.
