An electrical service grounding system connects the 1600-ampere neutral bus to building steel, a water meter, a ground rod, and a footing rebar. A 500 MCM copper bonding jumper runs from the neutral bus to a 2 inch by 1/4 inch thick copper ground bus spanning the switchboard. A #3/0 bare stranded copper grounding electrode conductor connects the main distribution switchboard to various grounding electrodes. A 20 foot long by 5/8 inch diameter copper clad ground rod is driven into the earth with its top 24 inches below finished grade. A Ufer ground bond connects to a 20 foot long #5 rebar in the strip footing using an exothermic Cadweld process coordinated with structural requirements. Another connection extends to building steel at the nearest column, similarly bonded using an exothermic Cadweld process. A bonding jumper is installed around the water meter, and a connection is made to the street side of the water meter through a 1 inch PVC sleeve passing through the foundation wall.
