An electrical conduit and conductors are embedded within a minimum thirty-inch deep trench in a lawn area with the existing grade matched at the top. The rigid PVC conduit rests on a minimum six-inch layer of clean sand at the bottom of the trench, enclosing the electrical conductors. A six-inch minimum layer of mechanically tumped backfill with ninety-eight percent compaction sits directly above the sand bedding. A continuous six-inch wide red vinyl warning marker tape is positioned twelve inches maximum above the conduit, bearing the printed caution message for buried electrical lines. The remaining trench depth is filled with mechanically tumped backfill up to the existing grade.
