A cast bronze eight-square-inch bonding plate is fastened to a cleaned bare metal surface on the perimeter steel column using two stainless steel self-tapping screws. A copper ground conductor routes down from the bonding plate through a one-inch Schedule 40 PVC sleeve cast into the floor and foundation wall, sealed watertight with a link seal. Below grade, the conductor ties into a ground loop conductor using high-compression copper connectors. A three-quarter-inch by ten-foot copper-clad ground rod connects to the loop at a point not less than eighteen inches below grade and a minimum of twenty-four inches away from the footing or foundation walls.

THE PERIMETER STEEL COLUMNS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A GROUND CONNECTION AT INTERVALS NOT TO EXCEED 60' 0" ON CENTER. HIGH COMPRESSION COPPER CONNECTOR. GROUND LOOP CONDUCTOR HIGHT COMPRESSION COPPER CONNECTOR 3/4" X 10 COPPER- CLAD GROUND ROD. THE CONNECTION TO THE GROUND ROD SHALL BE MADE AT A POINT NOT LESS THAN 18" BELOW GRADE AND A MINIMUM OF 24" AWAY FROM FOOTING OR FOUNDATION WALLS.
