An underground electrical duct bank consists of PVC schedule 40 conduits encased in red-dyed concrete within an 18-inch wide trench. Conduits are organized with Underground Devices Wunpeece spacers placed five feet on center and held down with number 4 rebar driven into the ground between ducts every five feet. Number 4 continuous rebar runs longitudinally, accompanied by two number 2 copper ground wires embedded in the concrete encasement. The trench is set over undisturbed dirt with a 24-inch depth to the bottom and a minimum 3-foot cover below grade, topped with wheel-compacted backfill and patched to match existing grade.
