A three-quarter-inch by ten-foot copperclad steel ground rod is driven into the earth and connected at the top via an exothermic cadweld. The rod is housed within a nine-inch diameter by twelve-inch concrete valve box topped with a nine-inch round cast iron cover marked "GROUND". The enclosure is surrounded by a six-inch sand fill and connects to an advanced drainage system extension and adapter per the 2016 California Electrical Code Section 250.53(G).
