A one-quarter-inch-thick copper ground bar is mounted at twenty inches above the finished floor on one-inch Bakelite standoff insulators. The bar features typical three-eighth-inch holes spaced across its length for equipment grounding connections. An exothermic weld connects a number two American Wire Gauge copper tinned bare conductor from a ground bus on the level below or from the main service switchboard.
