A surface-mounted three-quarter-inch conduit connects a proximity card reader on the unsecure side of a door to an eight-by-eight-by-six-inch square junction box located in the ceiling space above the secure side. From the junction box, a one-inch conduit routes wiring to the door controller cabinet. The junction box is mounted within the ceiling space of the secure side to house and protect the low-voltage or access control connections.
