Recessed troffer light fixtures in a lay-in acoustic ceiling grid are secured against seismic loads using number 12 gauge wire hangers independent of the ceiling support system at opposite corners of each fixture. Fixture clamps are provided, with one per side and four total per fixture, to secure the lighting unit directly to the grid framing members. Both 2x4 and 2x2 recessed troffer configurations utilize these independent support wires and clamps to prevent fixture displacement during seismic events.
