An underground electrical trench profile shows a maximum width of eighteen inches cut into undisturbed earth with a depth sized per schedule from finished grade. The trench bottom receives a minimum six-inch layer of select backfill supporting a service conduit with pull rope or service cable as shown on the one-line diagram. A minimum twelve-inch zone of screened backfill separates the lower service conduit from an upper communications conduit. Standard backfill fills the remainder of the trench, incorporating a warning tape positioned twelve inches below finished grade.
