A junction box is mounted to the steel structure or concrete deck above and fitted with a Kellems grip and cord clamp to support the drop. A continuous length of type SO cord extends downward without splices, terminating at a locking-blade type connector body receptacle positioned at six feet six inches above the finished floor. The grip secures directly to the cord insulation to prevent tension transmission to internal conductors or terminal screws.
