A concrete slab on grade abuts an existing concrete wall with a thickened edge and dowel connection. Number four adhesive dowels are spaced at twelve inches on center with a six-inch minimum embedment into the existing wall. An additional reinforcing bar matches the slab reinforcement within the thickened edge, and the vapor barrier continues uninterrupted below the thickened edge.
