An underground electrical ductbank is formed with a cast-in-place concrete encasement dyed red, resting on a four-inch class A or class C backfill base. Plastic conduit spacers and supports position the conduits within the encasement, while a top spacer prevents floating during the concrete pour. Continuous number four reinforcing bars run longitudinally along the ductbank corners. The concrete crown is sloped to a peak maintaining a minimum one-inch cover over the sides of the duct. Red plastic warning tape is installed twelve inches below grade directly above the encasement.
