The settlement vault is structurally tied to and supported by the building slab so that vault movement aligns with the primary structure. A twenty-six-inch wide by twenty-inch high slot accommodates differential settlement, with voids filled using expanding foam. An oversized plexiglass barrier covers the vault opening to accommodate movement while maintaining separation from exterior site slabs and pea gravel backfill. Conduits pass through the transition with slack in cables provided to allow up to twenty-four inches of differential settlement.
