An exit sign lighting fixture is suspended below a ceiling plane and connected to a four-inch junction box and a steel back box with bar hangers mounted above the ceiling. A branch circuit conduit feeds into the junction box assembly, and a seal is provided as required at the ceiling penetration. Chain support for short lengths in lieu of pendants may be acceptable in low air flow areas, and the installer shall provide bracing to prevent movement if the fixture sways due to air flow.
