Electrical outlets and control switches are mounted at specified heights above the finished floor to maintain accessibility over obstructions. For side approach, the maximum mounting height is forty-six inches with a maximum obstruction depth of twenty-four inches. For front approach, the maximum mounting height is forty-four inches at workstations or forty-eight inches maximum for general switches and receptacles. The bottom of the outlet box is positioned at a minimum of fifteen inches above the finished floor.
