Communications receptacles and dedicated outlets are positioned at specified vertical heights relative to the finished floor and adjacent building elements such as windows. General use receptacles maintain a minimum clearance of sixteen inches from the floor, while other devices have maximum mounting heights up to forty-eight inches. Special conditions require a dedicated receptacle positioned above a window with a vertical offset of two feet from secondary equipment. Mounting heights must be coordinated with specific equipment requirements on site.
