Emergency lighting activates automatically upon the loss of the normal lighting branch circuit. The system connects to a 24/7 normal power source and a lighting control panel routed through a single-pole single-throw switch. Emergency lighting units require a minimum battery capacity of ninety minutes and must connect directly to the normal lighting circuit serving the area.
