A ten-foot by three-quarter-inch diameter copper-clad steel ground rod is driven into the earth and connected to a copper ground cable at the top via an exothermic weld. The top of the ground rod is positioned eighteen inches below ground level, while the horizontal trench for the copper ground cable is excavated to a depth of thirty inches. The installation provides a reliable electrical earth connection for building grounding systems.
