An uninsulated bare copper grounding cable riser passes through a concrete slab-on-grade inside a two-inch Schedule-80 polyvinyl chloride conduit equipped with waterproofing sealant. The cable is supported vertically by non-metallic heavy-duty support clamps spaced a maximum of forty-eight inches on center and within eighteen inches of taps and splices. An uninsulated high-compression crimp tap connects the riser to ground ring copper conductors that extend to separate ground rods. The installation requires avoiding incidental contact with metallic building elements or bonding where contact is unavoidable.
