The concrete vault pad features a thickened edge reinforced with one continuous number five bar and number four bars spaced at twelve inches all around. The slab incorporates number five reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center each way, centered within the section. A three-quarter-inch chamfer is provided at the top corner. The subgrade consists of twenty-four inches of structural fill overexcavated and recompacted to ninety-five percent compaction over undisturbed earth, with a two-to-one slope as required. Finished grade maintains six to eight inches of height between the grade and the top of the vault lid or pad.
