A recessed back box is installed by the electrical contractor to house a card reader provided by the access control contractor. A 3/4-inch conduit with a pull string is run concealed by the electrical contractor, accompanied by an eighteen-gauge six-conductor stranded and shielded cable installed by the access control contractor. A two-pair eighteen-gauge cable is provided by the door hardware contractor for the electrified locking device supplied by the door hardware supplier.
