A wide flange beam connects to an intersecting hollow structural section beam using a five-eighths-inch by nine-inch plate centered on both members. A full-depth connection secures the wide flange beam per plan. The hollow structural section beam uses a welded connection per typical exposed hollow structural section connection details with a five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld.
