A recessed junction box anchors to the structure above a ceiling of varying material and finishes with a cover plate. A three-conductor number twelve gauge SO flexible 600-volt gray power cord extends from the junction box, secured by a stainless steel cord grip, such as a Kellums grip by Hubbell or equal. The cord terminates at a locking blade type connector body or receptacle, which must be a 20-amp twist-lock type or equal. The connector body must grip the cord insulation to prevent tension from reaching the conductors or terminal screws. Continuous lengths of SO cord are required at each drop cord location with no splices permitted, and the male end is provided for equipment connection.
