About this detail

Automatic load control relay (ALCR) wiring configuration for emergency lighting management. The normal power circuit incorporates an on/off control device—motion sensor, power pack, switch, or relay—feeding normal luminaires. The ALCR monitors normal power via three sense lines: normal power sense (black wire), normal neutral (white wire), and normal switched sense (red wire). Emergency power feeds the ALCR and routes to emergency luminaires via the emergency power out (yellow wire). An emergency override loop (red wire) connects the ALCR to a normally closed addressable output fire alarm module, providing 50 milliwatts per ALCR at 24 volts direct current, supporting up to 20 devices per loop.
