An underground electrical duct bank is encased in red-dyed concrete set within undisturbed dirt and wheel-compacted backfill. Four four-inch PVC Schedule 40 conduits are arranged in a two-by-two stack supported by Underground Devices Wunpeece spacers placed five feet on center. Six continuous number four reinforcing bars run longitudinally, complemented by hold-down bars and number four rebar driven into the ground between ducts every five feet on center. Two number two copper ground wires run alongside the conduits within the concrete envelope. The top of the concrete encasement maintains a minimum three-foot clearance below grade, finished with a surface patch to match existing grade.
