A typical ground cable tap connects a main grounding conductor to a branch grounding conductor. Above-grade cable taps require a Burndy type NYT compression connector, while below-grade installations utilize a Cadweld type TA weld connection. The grounding conductor runs continuously through the junction where specified by the design drawings.
