A Type G conduit rises vertically through a hazardous location boundary above a floor slab, carrying a vertical explosion-proof sealing fitting installed typically on the conduit. The fitting is positioned at a minimum clearance of 460 millimeters above the finished floor slab level. This sealing assembly is applied typically for the other end of the conduit entering or leaving the hazardous area to prevent the passage of gases or vapors.
