A copper grounding cable connects the building steel column to a ten-foot copper-clad steel ground rod via exothermic weld connections. The grounding cable routes through a one-inch PVC conduit sleeve and ties into the pile cap rebar using an exothermic weld. A T-type exothermic connection ties the cable into the main ground loop conductor below grade to close the grounding circuit.
