The supporting column consists of a built-up box section constructed from A36 steel plates, utilizing two two-inch by eighteen-inch plates and two two-inch by fourteen-inch plates joined with complete joint penetration welds at the corners. Elevation dimensions establish the top of steel at sixteen feet six and one-half inches and seventeen feet five and one-quarter inches, with the bottom of steel at fourteen feet eight inches. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size secure secondary connections, and structural grid lines C1.5 and C2 establish horizontal positioning.
