A dry-type transformer rests on a four-inch thick concrete housekeeping pad above the finished floor. A quarter-inch thick neoprene acoustic isolation gasket is placed between the transformer base and the housekeeping pad to reduce vibration transmission. The housekeeping pad is anchored to the structural slab using one number four rebar at each corner of the base with a minimum of four inches of edge coverage, extending three inches into both the slab and the housekeeping pad. The transformer is mechanically fastened to the housekeeping pad following all manufacturer recommendations using approved anchor systems such as Hilti HVA, HIT-1, or equivalent products from Ramset or Epcon.
