A concrete ground rod box, such as Christy F8 or approved equal, houses a three-quarter inch by eight foot copper ground rod driven into the earth. The box sits on a twelve inch thick gravel base for drainage and is topped with a cast iron cover marked grounding electrode. A copper grounding electrode conductor connects to the ground rod using a Cadweld or approved equal ground rod and electrode connector.
