Rigid stem suspended lighting fixture mounting assembly attached to wood ceiling joists or wall studs. An adjustable bar hanger featuring a one-half-inch threaded nipple is fastened to the electrical box with a one-half-inch locknut. Telescoping bar hangers are secured to the two-by support system using number ten sheet metal screws, applied typically at four places into wood blocking located between the ceiling joists. One hanger is provided at each end of the luminaire, with wood blocking and ceiling framing installed per the architectural drawings above the finished ceiling.
