A Raychem GM-2XT self-regulating heating cable or approved equal is installed on the rain leader piping, with a maximum length of 5 feet. The heating cable is routed through a no-hub tee fitting and encased in conduit, maintaining a watertight seal at the wall penetration. A pilot light indicates when the heat trace is active, and a downspout nozzle discharges water on the exterior side of the wall assembly.
