Copper ground cables connect to ground rods using exothermic welds in various joint configurations such as tee welds, butt welds, and thru-weld connections. A weld ring attaches to the top of the ground rod, or conductors connect directly to the rod head. Junction welds join multiple cable runs in a single exothermic mold. Weld types include butt welding conductors or executing thru-weld connections.
