A secondary structural steel member frames into the web of a primary supporting member using a bolted connection plate. The connection utilizes 'N' bolts of specified diameter and a plate thickness 't', welded to the supporting web with a fillet weld size 'F'. A full-depth plate is provided at locations where no opposing beam is present within two feet on the opposite side of the main member. Similar conditions apply for beams framing on both sides of the main member, with plate sizes, bolt counts, and weld sizes scheduled elsewhere. Dimensional clearances include a minimum one-half inch gap and variable spacing relative to the 'k' distance of the primary member.
