CAT 12 and CAT 12AB J-hooks are mounted at a maximum spacing of four feet on center across various support surfaces. The upper assembly secures to a metal joist using an angle bracket and a one-quarter-inch lag bolt with a washer, providing a two-inch embedment in the centerline of the member. The lower assembly mounts to a wall with options for a number ten self-tapping sheet metal screw penetrating fully through the metal stud flange, a one-quarter-inch lag bolt with a washer embedded two inches into the centerline of a metal stud, or a Hilti X-U or X-C fastener with a one-inch embedment in concrete.
