Precast concrete inlet basin designed for HS-20 traffic loads with a 4-foot by 4-foot clear width. The structure features reinforced concrete walls and base slab using number 5 and number 6 steel deformed bars spaced at various intervals, set on a prepared subgrade. A typical catch basin includes a bicycle grate matching D & L Supply I-3517 or equivalent, positioned adjacent to asphalt paving and landscape or sidewalk per site plan. Inlet and outlet pipes penetrate the box walls, with pipe joints and ledges grouted smooth using epoxy grout. Additional provisions include plastic coated steel ladder rungs in boxes over six feet deep, a minimum 4-inch curb face opening, and a 2-inch drop from the concrete gutter flow-line to the top of the grate.
