A below-inlet grate device is installed inside a storm water drainage structure for sediment and debris control. A rectangular drainage grate sits within a grate frame, supported by the concrete structure walls with a maximum five-inch trim clearance. The suspended filtering device captures sediment while allowing filtered water to pass through the bottom and includes a built-in high-flow relief system for overflow bypass. A typical retrieval system allows removal of the device without spilling the collected material.
1. SIZE THE BELOW INLET GRATE DEVICE (BIGD) FOR THE STORM WATER STRUCTURE IT WILL SERVICE. 2. THE BIGD SHALL HAVE A BUILT-IN HIGH-FLOW RELIEF SYSTEM (OVERFLOW BYPASS). 3.
