A 4-inch diameter standard weight galvanized steel pipe is filled with concrete weighing 150 pounds per yard and finished with safety yellow paint. The top features a crowned concrete fill with a 1/2-inch high dome top to drain. The bollard extends down through asphalt concrete pavement or a concrete slab and Class II aggregate base into a 21-inch diameter concrete footing that is 36 inches deep with 3 inches of clearance at the base. The surrounding concrete at the pavement surface is sloped to drain away from the post.
