A precast or cast-in-place catch basin is surrounded by engineered fill and finished pavement. The basin features a heavy-duty twenty-eight-inch minimum square traffic grate with the rim set per plan over a twenty-four-inch square interior. A concrete collar made of three thousand PSI concrete, reinforced with a number four rebar loop, surrounds the upper frame, with the note to omit it in non-traffic areas or where it conflicts with curbs. Inside the basin, an internal grease trap with a hinged lid is constructed from a quarter-inch bituminous-coated steel plate manufactured by Gibson Steel Basins or an approved equal. Inlet and outlet pipes are sized per plan with invert elevations per plan, set within the surrounding engineered fill.
