A stamped concrete driveway pavement assembly with a thickened edge comprises six inches of concrete pavement featuring an architectural stamp and number four reinforcing bars spaced at sixteen inches on center each way positioned three inches from the top. Below the pavement sits a six-inch Class II aggregate base compacted to ninety-five percent maximum density over a geogrid layer specified as Tensar BX1200 or approved equivalent per the soils report. A twelve-inch subgrade that is scarified and compacted to a minimum of ninety-five percent maximum density forms the bottom layer. A thickened edge measuring eight inches wide by six inches deep is provided where the pavement is not bounded by hardscape. Actual thickness of concrete and aggregate base shall be determined during construction by the geotechnical engineer.
