Shingled polyethylene sheeting is placed over the soil slope with a slope ratio of two-to-one or steeper. Two-inch by two-inch by two-foot six-inch wood stakes are embedded eighteen inches minimum into the ground. Sandbags are placed at ten-foot to twenty-foot on center intervals with ropes used in lieu of additional stakes. The sheet is buried and backfilled with compacted three-quarters to one-and-one-half-inch washed gravel typically. Sheeting covers all bare soil on the slope and overlaps a minimum of twelve inches with sandbag anchors placed in the center of the overlap.
