Six-inch diameter by six-foot long precast reinforced concrete bollards are positioned in a layout around a post indicator valve and vault. Two typical bollards are set at a 4.5-foot diagonal clearance and 2.5-foot grid spacing from the valve centerline. The top of the bollard elevation aligns with the top of the pumper port elevation, and bollards are painted caterpillar yellow with two coats. Installation requires caution near the vault, maintaining a minimum of 18 inches from the outside edge of the vault to the edge of the bollard.
