Metal grating banding is welded to the bearing bars with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld at one-inch spacing typically. The banding bar thickness matches the bearing bar thickness. A clearance of three-quarters-inch to one-and-one-quarter-inch is maintained at the edge of the item where applicable. Alternatively, a four-inch high banding bar is detailed at grating edges.
