Pavement replacement assemblies for both concrete and asphalt surfaces rest on a minimum six-inch base course and twelve inches of compacted subgrade. Dowels are grouted a minimum of twelve inches into the existing eight-inch concrete pavement, reinforced with 6x6-W4.0xW4.0 welded wire fabric. Asphaltic concrete patches include a two-inch minimum wearing surface over a tack coat and six inches of concrete. Saw cuts establish clean excavation limits, and non-metallic caution tape is buried within the trench profile.
