The section consists of a 6.5-inch Portland cement concrete surface layer with a minimum modulus of rupture of 550 PSI and a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 PSI. Beneath the concrete rests a 4-inch Class 2 aggregate base compacted to at least 95 percent relative compaction in accordance with ASTM D1557. The subgrade soils are compacted to at least 95 percent relative compaction per ASTM D1557, providing at least 12 inches of compacted material below the aggregate base.
