A horizontal brace connects to a steel column via gusset plates welded with quarter-inch fillet welds. Four three-quarter-inch diameter A325 bolts fasten the gusset plate assembly. Top and bottom plates are sized per detail 3.S-319, with three-eighth-inch plates fitted between them. Dimensions A and B vary depending on the buckling-restrained brace gusset plate dimensions, with shown values of ten and three-sixteenths inches and two and seven-eighths inches respectively.
