A sediment control installation is positioned at a side opening catch basin on grade. A curb inlet guard or combination guard manufactured by Ertec or equal is placed at the lip of the gutter, featuring a filter device to allow for high flow bypass. Gravel bags are abutted tightly against the curb, stacked one bag high at the spillway and two bags high along the check dam configuration. Similar check dams are installed upstream as necessary to manage runoff flow.
