The pavement assembly consists of four inches of asphalt concrete pavement overlying six inches of Class II aggregate base compacted to ninety-five percent maximum density. Below the base course, a Tensar BX1200 geotextile grid or approved equivalent is installed over a twelve-inch subgrade that is scarified and compacted to a minimum of ninety-five percent maximum density. The actual thickness of the asphalt concrete pavement and aggregate base is determined during construction by the geotechnical engineer pursuant to R-value testing.
